Cisco CPX Cloud Team

Core Responsibilities

Strategy, UX Prototyping, User Testing

Brief

I worked on Cisco CX Cloud, an enterprise platform that offers a unified view of customer's Cisco assets with access to insights and analytics on their entire Cisco portfolio.

I had the opportunity to intern as a UX Designer on Cisco CX/PX Cloud product team. It was a challenging but yet extremely rewarding experience setting foot in the world of enterprise product design. While this project is under NDA and I cannot elaborate on the product itself, I can share my role in the two main projects I worked on:

Navigation Pattern

Played a key role in improving usability, consistency and clarity of CX/PX Cloud by collaborating closely with design leads, UX architects and design system team to define patterns and guidelines for navigation within CX/PX Cloud and integrating them into design component specs.

Item Details

Provided customers with more efficient and easily understood access to item details by revamping current information-heavy 360 (Item details) viewing experience. Led redesign efforts and collaborated with UX researchers to flesh out research and product development plan.

Key Takeaways

The work posed significant challenges, yet they drove me to acquire more knowledge than I had in any previous internship.

Setting foot in the world of enterprise product design was challenging, yet these the crucial insights I gained:

Team Alignment is key

When everyone is on the same page, there is less confusion and reduced work, and the organization would function more efficiently.

Importance of Iterations

It's unrealistic to anticipate achieving the ideal design solution immediately. Continuous iteration, guided by ongoing feedback from stakeholders, developers, and users, is essential the design process.

Be Forward Thinking

While developing a new feature for CX Cloud. It's important to consider potential future content and user needs beyond just the MVP as it enhances the scalability of the designs and reduce the necessity for frequent redesigns.
